Abstract

Trend of prices for various commodities in May 2021 generally showed an increase. In May 2021 there was inflation of 0.17 percent, or an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 106.23 in April 2021 to 106.41 in May 2021.

Inflation that occurred in Banda Aceh occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index (inflation) in 7 expenditure groups. A total of 3 expenditure groups experienced a decrease in index (deflation) while the education service expenditure group did not experience a change.

The inflation rate for the calendar year (January–May) 2021 is 0.45 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (May 2021 to May 2020) is 1.73 percent.
