Thursday, November 21, 2024, BPS Banda Aceh City held a 2024 Tourism Statistics Workshop with the theme "Improving the Quality of Tourism Data for Sustainable Development". This activity was held as a form of joint commitment to improve the quality of statistical data which is very important in the development of the tourism sector, especially in Banda Aceh City.
The workshop was attended by accommodation service companies (Star Hotels) in the Banda Aceh City area, employees of the Banda Aceh City Tourism Office, Field Inspection Officers (PML) for tourism statistics surveys, the Distribution and Administration Statistics team of BPS Banda Aceh City.
The Head of BPS Banda Aceh City, Tedi Herdiawan, S.Sos., M.A.P., in his remarks explained the importance of tourism data to capture the current condition of tourism in Banda Aceh City. The event was opened by the Head of the Banda Aceh City Tourism Office, Said Fauzan, S.STP., M.A., in his direction he appreciated BPS Banda Aceh City for initiating collaboration with the Banda Aceh City Tourism Office to hold this workshop. He also hopes to be able to carry out similar activities by inviting more varied tourism sector companies.
Head of the Distribution Statistics Team, Mursalina, explained the importance of improving the quality of tourism statistics data and the role of accommodation service companies as respondents in realizing tourism data for sustainable development. Furthermore, the Person in Charge of Tourism Statistics Activities (PJK), Sabran, explained the procedures for filling out the questionnaire and evaluating the collection of monthly Accommodation Service Survey (VHTS) data that has been provided by accommodation service companies.
Through solid collaboration between the government, private sectors, and statistical institutions, tourism can be realized that not only develops, but also provides sustainable benefits for the community and the environment.
